Cycling might be some of teh best ways to see the local scenery and if you like cycling then staying at Mendip Ski Camp puts you right at the heart of some amazing cycling routes.
There are plenty of cycling routes, available in the Mendip Hills and Cheddar for all abilities and various confidence levels.
The Strawberry Line
Offering an almost completely traffic-free route this cycle path offers a mostly flat paved route of approx 11 miles. Ideal for e-bikes or any fitness level.
Cycle to the coast
At just under 14 miles this route takes you from Cheddar to the coast at Brean.
A fairly flat route with a couple of hills, most of it is on roads – so you will need to be confident on your bike
Butcombe Loop
If you’d prefer not to double back on yourself this route forms a loop. Going through Cheddar, Winscombe Chew Magna and Priddy.
This slightly harder 35 mile route will require a good level of fitness due to a few big hills. the majority of this route is on the road.
If you’re not planning to brng a bike you can easily hire a bike at Cheddar Bikes (just 5 miles up the road) – wioth a range of bikes and e-bikes for all ages and experience.
