If you are passing through or staying in the Mendips a visit to Cheddar Gorge is a must!
At almost three miles and 137m deep, Cheddar Gorge in Somerset, is the UK’s largest Gorge. Driving through the Gorge is a humbling experience, on any given day you’ll see climbers and goats at precarious heights! Keep your eyes on the road though!
There is car parking throughout the gorge to stop and wonder. There are plenty of walks in the area
After looking at the gorge we recommend driving on down into Cheddar village. A tourist hotspot full of quirky shops and cafes…and plenty of cheese!
